Chelsea star open to signing a new contract
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is open to the possibility of signing a new contract with the west London side following his recent run of matches in all competitions.
Giroud failed to make a competitive appearance for the Blues between December and late February and that led to the speculation that his career may be winding up with the club.
However, he has recently benefited from the injury setback for first-choice striker Tammy Abraham and has started the past four matches in all competitions
In an interview relayed by Evening Standard, Giroud has now said that he is looking forward to ending the season with possible silverware and could be open to extending his stay with the Blues.
"Yes. Yes. Yeah, of course. There are a few months to go, games to win and maybe another trophy, and after, you know, I think I have two (or) three nice seasons in front of me," he told.
Giroud is expected to start for the Capital outfit when they face Everton in Sunday's Premier League game at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are currently holding onto the fourth spot with a three-point advantage over Manchester United.
