Liverpool are reportedly prepared to part ways with Swiss attacker Xherdan Shaqiri when the transfer window reopens later in the year.

The 28-year-old has been restricted to just 10 appearances in the current season but he has spent most of the second half of the season nursing a nagging calf injury.

According to Football Insider, the Reds had received multiple loan offers for Shaqiri in January but they decided to reject the advances to keep hold of the attacker for the campaign.

However, they are willing to sanction his departure during the off-season and are set to demand a fee of around £28m for the former Stoke City and Bayern Munich man.

Shaqiri has made exactly 40 appearances for the Merseyside giants since his move from Stoke in the summer of 2018. He has more than three years remaining on his existing deal.

Spanish side Sevilla are currently leading the race to sign him on a permanent basis but it is unclear whether they would be willing to match the Reds' price tag.
