Barcelona ready to sell Samuel Umtiti for just £26m
Barcelona could reportedly sanction the sale of Samuel Umtiti on the cheap amid his injury record over the past 18 months.
The Frenchman has been the third-choice centre-back for the Blaugrana this term with Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet favoured ahead of him on most occasions.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the Spanish champions could sell the defender for around £45m but Sport claims that he could be available for as little as £26m when the transfer window reopens.
Umtiti has struggled with knee problems since the 2018 World Cup and reports have claimed that the Frenchman requires regular treatment to manage his concern.
This has definitely put off potential buyers and the Blaugrana are now aiming to offload him for a reduced fee. Umtiti has made 114 appearances for the club since his move from Lyon in 2016.
He has, however, made only nine league starts this season. The 26-year-old is currently contracted to the Spanish champions until the summer of 2023.
