Jorge Mendes in contact with Manchester United over Real Madrid star
Super-agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly made contact with Manchester United regarding a possible move for James Rodriguez at the end of the season.
The Colombian has endured an injury-plagued campaign with Los Blancos this term and he has been restricted to only 13 appearances across all competitions.
According to AS, Los Blancos are prepared to sanction Rodriguez's sale during the summer with his contract due to expire in less than 15 months' time.
It is added that Mendes, who represents Rodriguez, has spoken with the United hierarchy over the possible transfer of his client to Old Trafford during the summer.
Rodriguez has suffered eight separate injuries in the past 18 months and during this period, his performances have been greatly hampered on the playing field.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has placed the emphasis on signing young players with the view to the future and it remains to be seen whether he is tempted by the prospect of landing Rodriguez.
