United open to Jesse Lingard sale

Manchester United could reportedly consider the sale of Jesse Lingard when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.

The England international has failed to contribute a goal or an assist in the Premier League since December 2018.

As a result, he has dropped down the selection order and failed to make the matchday squad in a number of games before the coronavirus shutdown.

According to Sky Sports News, Lingard faces a 'tricky situation' with the Red Devils, given he is no longer assured regular gametime in the Premier League.

It is added that United may listen to offers for his services but ultimately the attacker will make the final decision on his future with the club.

Lingard's current deal expires in the summer of 2021 but the club have the option of extending his contract for another 12 months.

Arsenal and Everton have been credited with an interest in signing the 27-year-old, who has made more than 200 appearances for United in all competitions.
