Manchester United are still leading the race to sign midfielder Jude Bellingham from Birmingham City during the next transfer window.

The 16-year-old has impressed in his debut season for Birmingham City where he has amassed four goals and two assists from 32 league appearances.

His form has attracted interest from several elite clubs including Borussia Dortmund but The Sun claims that United are still favourites to sign the teenager from St Andrew's.

Bellingham has already made a visit to United's training ground this year where he met with senior officials including Ed Woodward and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Birmingham are likely to hand Bellingham with his professional contract when he turns 17 at the end of June and they are expected to demand an initial fee of around £35m for his sale.

Bellingham has shown his versatility with his ability to play in different midfield positions. He has also featured on the left side of the attack on a few occasions.
