Manchester United set their sights on signing 22-year-old defender
Manchester United are prepared to pursue the services of Joe Rodon from Swansea City with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanting to freshen up the central defensive options.
According to The Mirror, the Red Devils are expected to offload the trio of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo this summer and they could be replaced with at least one central defender.
It is added that Rodon has been earmarked as the prime target following the recommendation from club legend Ryan Giggs, who has managed the Welshman internationally.
Rodon is currently valued at around £20m and the Red Devils should be able to recoup the entire sum from the sale of out-of-favour players in the next transfer window.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have been the regulars at the heart of the defence this term but Solskjaer is said to have concerns over the latter's performances.
Solskjaer has the likes of Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe for the back-up duties but the duo have been unlucky with injury setbacks over the past few years.
