Chelsea confident of signing Manchester United starlet?
Chelsea are reportedly confident of landing the signature of Angel Gomes when his contract with Manchester United expires.
The 19-year-old's current deal with United is due to expire at the end of June and so far, he has refused to put pen-to-paper on a contract extension.
According to The Mirror, Gomes appears likely to become a free-agent by July and he could be the subject of interest from several European sides.
Arsenal, Barcelona and Inter Milan are among those interested in his services but it is reported that the Blues are leading the queue to sign him on a long-term deal.
Blues boss Frank Lampard has been open to handing opportunities to young players this term and Gomes believes he has the chance of commanding more gametime with the west London side.
Gomes has made only six appearances for United this term where he has managed less than 300 minutes. The lack of regular first-team football has contributed to his contract standoff with the club.
