La Liga midfielder prepared to reject PSG for Arsenal transfer

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has made it clear that he wants to join Arsenal despite the fresh interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with the Gunners this year but the north London side are yet to make an approach to sign him.

According to Ghana Soccernet, Les Parisiens have recently entered the race to sign the midfielder and they are prepared to trigger the £45m release clause on his contract.

However, Partey is said to have no interest in a move to Parc des Princes and has told his entourage that he wants to join the Gunners ahead of next season.

Mikel Arteta's side are currently in a difficult situation with the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic and they are likely to rely on free transfer signings and swap deals.

A move for Partey seems unlikely to happen at the moment but they could yet recoup funds from the sale of unwanted players. Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Sokratis are among those, who could be sold this summer.
