Barcelona looking to sign top Liverpool target?
Barcelona could look into the signing of Liverpool target Timo Werner as they seek to strengthen their centre-forward department this summer.
The Blaugrana are keen on purchasing a new striker in the next transfer window and Lautaro Martinez has been linked with the club over the past few weeks.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, they may not afford the Argentine due to his £102m release clause and have identified Werner as a 'plan B' option for the summer.
Werner, who has bagged 27 goals and 12 assists for Leipzig this term, currently has a £52m release clause on his contract but so far, no club has made a formal offer for his services.
Liverpool have been touted to sign him during the summer transfer window but the Merseyside outfit are currently delaying the decision amid the financial impact of the coronavirus shutdown.
Aside from the duo, Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in signing the former Stuttgart graduate, who has made more than 200 appearances in the Bundesliga.
