Liverpool make loan offer for World Cup winner
Liverpool have made a loan offer Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele, Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has claimed.
The Frenchman has suffered from persistent hamstring injuries since his move from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 and he has made only 74 appearances in all competitions.
He is currently out of action following a surgery for a hamstring tear in February and is unlikely to return to first-team contention until September at the least.
Despite this, it appears that the Reds have expressed an interest in signing the World Cup-winning attacker on loan with the possibility of a permanent purchase next summer.
The Blaugrana are looking to recoup funds for the signing of Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan and taking Dembele off their wage bill should help in the pursuit of the marksman.
Dembele has scored 19 times during his three years at the Camp Nou. He has not expressed any interest in leaving the club despite the constant speculation surrounding his future.
