Brandon Williams in line for new long-term deal

Manchester United defender Brandon Williams is likely to be offered a new and improved contract following his impressive breakthrough season with the club.

The 19-year-old only signed a new deal eight months ago but he has already caught the eye of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with his consistent displays on the left side of the defence.

Williams has already made 29 appearances for the club in the current campaign and he appears set to have a long-term future with Solskjaer viewing him as the first-choice left-back in the long-run.

According to The Athletic, Williams only earns £4000-a-week in his current deal and he is set to be rewarded with another long-term contract with a significant increase in his wages.

Williams has been preferred ahead of Luke Shaw at left-back on a few occasions this term. There have been games where both of them have played with Shaw featuring in a three-man central defence.

The youngster should feature for the club when the Premier League season resumes after the coronavirus shutdown on June 20. United could restart their campaign with an away trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
