Manchester United open talks to sign World Cup winning-midfielder

Manchester United have reportedly opened negotiations with the agent of Corentin Tolisso as they seek to sign the midfielder from Bayern Munich this summer.

The Frenchman joined the Bavarian giants from Lyon in the summer of 2017 and he has an impressive debut season where he bagged 10 goals and eight assists from 40 outings.

However, he could not replicate the performances last term after a serious knee injury at the beginning of the season and he has since struggled to nail down a regular role.

Tolisso is presently out on the sidelines with an ankle injury suffered in training earlier in April and he is unlikely to make a comeback until September at the least.

Still, United are said to be interested in the French World Cup winner and according to RMC Sport, they have made contact with the player's entourage over a possible summer move.

Bayern are expected to demand around £30m for the former Lyon man and United should be able to afford the sum despite the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.
