Arsenal optimistic over new Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang deal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang news

Arsenal hopeful of new Aubameyang deal

Arsenal are still hopeful of negotiating a new contract with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang due to their close relationship with the player's father and agent.

The Gabon international has just over 12 months remaining on his existing deal with the Gunners and this has led to the speculation that he could be sold at the end of the season.

So far, there has been no progress in terms of the renewal with the forward but The Telegraph claims that the north London side are optimistic of extending the forward's stay.

The Capital outfit are said to share a strong relationship with the player's father and agent, Pierre-Francois Aubameyang and believe that could aid them in finalising the contract extension.

The former Borussia Dortmund star has been in fine form for the Gunners this season and he has bagged 20 goals and one assist from just 31 appearances across all competitions.

The Gunners restart their Premier League season after the coronavirus shutdown with a league game against Manchester City on June 17. Aubameyang is expected to feature from the starting lineup.
