Wolverhampton Wanderers enter race for Arsenal target
Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly made an official approach to sign defender Axel Disasi from Reims.
The 22-year-old helped Reims put together the best defensive record in Ligue 1 this term and his displays have caught the eye of top European sides.
Arsenal were reckoned as the favourites to sign him a month ago but the north London side have yet to make any offer amid the financial constraints of the coronavirus pandemic.
This has offered Wolves the chance to jump ahead in the player's pursuit and L'Equipe claims that the west Midlands outfit have made a formal bid worth £13.5m for the central defender.
A number of other sides including Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the centre-back but Wolves have put the pressure on their rivals by making an official offer.
Wolves are planning to make at least three signings during the summer transfer window. On the other hand, they are uncertain over the futures of Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore, who have been linked with big-money moves elsewhere.
