Chelsea winger refuses to sign short-term extension
Chelsea winger Pedro has refused to sign a short-term extension with the club and will join AS Roma on a free transfer at the end of the month.
Pedro's current deal with the Blues expires on June 30 and he has reportedly declined to extend his stay for the remainder of the campaign.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spain international has already agreed terms over a two-year contract with Italian giants Roma.
It is added that the forward does not want to represent the Blues beyond the current month, given he is fearful that an injury could scupper his transfer.
Pedro has struggled for regular gametime during the course of the current season and he has been restricted to only eight league starts to date.
There are no assurances that he will command a regular role in the remaining games and that may be another reason behind his decision to reject the short-term extension.
