Mikel Arteta provides injury update on Granit Xhaka and Pablo Mari

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that the club will assess the injuries sustained by Granit Xhaka and Pablo Mari during the recent Premier League clash against Manchester City.
The Gunners returned to league action after three months with an away trip to the Etihad Stadium but it was one to forget as they were convincingly beaten by a 3-0 score.
Both Xhaka and Mari picked up injuries during the opening 25 minutes of the contest and that definitely ruined Mikel Arteta's gameplan for the Premier League outing.
Speaking after the game, Arteta said that both players will be medically examined but hinted that Mari may have picked up an injury which could rule him out for the rest of the season.
"They are getting assessed at the moment then we will know something more tomorrow morning. Pablo's one didn't look very good to be fair," he was quoted as saying by Arsenal's official website.
The Gunners are currently ninth on the table with an eight-point gap to the top four. They are scheduled to face Brighton & Hove Albion on the road in their next league clash on Saturday.
