Havertz could be available for lesser fee

German attacker Kai Havertz could be available for around £70m, suppose Bayer Leverkusen fail to qualify for next season's Champions League, Football.London reports.

The 21-year-old has been in top form for Leverkusen this season and he has bagged 16 goals and nine assists from 40 appearances in all competitions.

His form has caught the eye of the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid, but none of them are prepared to meet Leverkusen's £90m price tag at the current point of time.

According to Football.London, Leverkusen are presently reluctant to reduce their asking price but their stance could change, if they are unable to qualify for the 2020/21 Champions League.

In this case, they may demand a reduced fee of around £70m for the Germany international and that could invite a bidding battle among the interested European sides.

Leverkusen are presently fourth in the Bundesliga standings with a one-point lead over Borussia Monchengladbach. They have another two games remaining in the season to preserve their top-four spot and qualify for Europe's premier competition.
