Leroy Sane set to depart Man City?
Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has reportedly refused to sign an extension to his contract with the Cityzens, as the German international seeks a return to his homeland to join Bayern Munich. Sane has been out through injury for most of the 2019-20 season.
It is understood that manager Pep Guardiola had offered Sane's representatives a new deal, but with Sane set to link up with the Bavarian giants in a new look attack line, it appears as if the writing is on the wall. Bayern are ready to pay 80 million euros to sign Sane this summer.
"Leroy said he doesn’t want to extend his contract," Guardiola said on Friday. "If he wants to leave it is going to happen this summer or at the end of the contract. The club talked to me a few times, he rejected his contract."
Sane's deal with City expires in 2021, and a move to Bayern Munich looks increasingly likely. The former Schalke 04 man will likely partner Serge Gnabry in Bayern's attack, as the Bundesliga champions finally assemble their dream attacking replacement, not seen since Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben partnered on the club's flanks.
