Manchester United make bid for Serie A defender

Skriniar to Manchester United?

Manchester United have made a formal approach to sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar this summer, a report from Tuttosport claims.

The Red Devils have fared impressively at the back this year, but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still considering a new partner for Harry Maguire in the central defence.

Skriniar has been long linked with a move to Old Trafford and Tuttosport claims that the Red Devils have now made an official £58m to secure his services.

The same outlet reports that the Nerazzurri were demanding around £72m for Skriniar last summer, but they are not in a position to command a similar price tag amid the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Skriniar has made 36 appearances for the Serie A giants across all competitions, but he has featured in just one of the previous four league games due to suspension.

The Slovakian has previously been linked with a potential move to Barcelona, but the Spanish giants won't be able to afford him unless a swap deal is agreed.
