Chelsea, Manchester United enter race for Dutch defender
Chelsea and Manchester United have joined Manchester City in the race to sign Nathan Ake during this summer's transfer window.
The Netherlands international has been a key figure for Bournemouth in the central defence in recent years, but he has been touted to pursue a fresh challenge.
A recent report claimed that the Cityzens had opened negotiations with the Cherries and they could sign the Dutchman for a fee of around £35m.
However, according to The Sun, Ake does not seem in a hurry to join the League Cup holders and he is awaiting offers from other sides.
Chelsea, who have a buy-back clause worth £40m, are said to be considering a possible approach while United are also weighing up a potential bid.
Blues boss Frank Lampard is keen on working with a back three next term and Ake could feature on the left side of the central defence.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, meanwhile, is eager to land a new centre-back as he is far from impressed with the performances of Victor Lindelof.
