Manchester United enter race for Brazilian defender
Manchester United have reportedly joined the likes of Chelsea and Everton in the race to sign Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille this summer.
The Brazilian made 34 appearances for the French outfit during the 2019/2020 campaign before their season was curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Toffees were fancied to sign him for around £20m earlier this year, but Lille opted to freeze on the proposal after learning of the widespread interest from European sides.
Lille president Gerard Lopez has confirmed that the centre-back will leave the club this summer and it appears that United have joined the player's pursuit.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on signing a new central defensive partner for Harry Maguire as he is not entirely convinced over Victor Lindelof's displays.
Lille are said to be looking for around £30m to part ways with the 22-year-old. Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli have also been credited with an interest in the former Avai graduate.
