Chelsea enter the race to sign South American defender
Chelsea have reportedly joined the likes of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in the race to sign Nicolas Tagliafico from Ajax.
The Blues are on the search for a new left-back this summer and they have been regularly linked with Leicester City's Ben Chilwell.
However, the England international won't come on the cheap for the Blues and there are reports suggesting that he could cost in upwards of £60m.
Hence, the club are looking into alternative options and Sky Sports claims that they are interested in a deal for Tagliafico from Ajax.
The Argentine bagged five goals and seven assists across all competitions for Ajax last season before their domestic campaign was ended by COVID-19.
While he is an attacking full-back, he has equally impressed in the defence with three tackles, two interceptions and two aerial duels won on average last term.
Frank Lampard's side are set to part ways with Emerson in the coming weeks and Tagliafico is reportedly available for an affordable price of around £22m.
