Leverkusen won't negotiate Havertz valuation

Chelsea's move for Kai Havertz has reached a halt with Bayer Leverkusen refusing to budge on their £90m asking price for the German.

Havertz experienced a fine 2019/2020 season with Leverkusen and he contributed 18 goals and nine assists from 45 appearances across all competitions.

In recent months, he has been touted to join the west London giants, but Leverkusen have made it quite clear that they won't offer any discount on the fee.

According to Sky Sports News, the Blues have yet to meet the asking price set by the Bundesliga outfit and that has stalled the negotiations for the time being.

Frank Lampard's side want to negotiate a package of around £70m citing the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic, but Leverkusen are firm on their decision.

Havertz will enter the final 12 months of his contract next summer, but Leverkusen believe that they can command a better price by then based on the attacker's performances next term.
