Chelsea to move for Premier League midfielder?
Chelsea could shift their focus to signing West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice following their purchase of Kai Havertz.
Havertz recently joined the Blues from Bayer Leverkusen for an initial £62m and that has extended their spending spree to nearly £200m.
According to The Express, the west London side could now switch their attention to Rice, who is one of the remaining names on Frank Lampard's wishlist.
The Hammers are currently in a strong position to keep hold of Rice with more than four years remaining on his contract with the option for another 12 months.
However, it is claimed that they could be convinced to sanction the player's sale this month with the Blues prepared to make a tempting bid of around £70m.
Rice started his youth career with the Blues, but he was released as a 14-year-old. He has since progressed through the Hammers ranks to become a first-team star, but could now make a comeback to his former side.
