Arsenal finally confirm contract extension for 29-goal star
Arsenal have officially announced that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has put pen-to-paper on a fresh three-year contract with the club.
The Gabon international joined the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 and over the past two-and-a-half years, he has netted 72 goals, 29 of which came last season.
Aubameyang's previous deal was due to expire in the summer of 2021, but he has now signed a fresh contract which will run until the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
With the renewal, the 31-year-old has also been rewarded with an increase on his previous salary and he will earn around £250,000-a-week as his basic wages.
Aubameyang has netted 22 goals in each of the previous two Premier League campaigns and he was on the scoresheet during the Gunners' 3-0 win over Fulham in the 2020/21 Premier League opener.
He will be aiming for another 20-goal season in the Premier League such that the Gunners can make the push for the top four and qualify for the Champions League for the first time in five seasons.
