Chelsea agree fee for 28-year-old Ligue 1 star
Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement with Rennes for the signing of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
The Senegal international was fancied to join the Blues at the beginning of the month, but the deal was stalled due to Rennes' demands.
The French outfit were looking for at least £25m from the player's sale, but they have eventually agreed a deal worth £22m with the Blues.
Mendy, 28, is now expected to travel to the English capital in order to complete the necessary formalities for the transfer.
He will become the club's seventh signing of the summer after the arrivals of Ziyech, Werner, Chilwell, Sarr, Silva and Havertz.
His arrival will take their spending spree to more than £220m and there could be another signing before the transfer deadline.
Frank Lampard is said to be keen on landing a new midfielder and Declan Rice of West Ham United has been identified as the prime target.
The Blues have yet to make an offer for the England international.
