Brazilian defender's agent confident of Manchester United bid

The agent of Alex Telles is reportedly confident that Manchester United will make an approach to sign the left-back before the transfer deadline.

The Red Devils are on the search for a new left-back and they were recently fancied to sign Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.

However, a deal failed to materialise as they refused to pay £27m while Los Blancos' demand for a buy-back clause was another stumbling block.

According to A Bola, the Red Devils have now shifted their attention to landing Telles from Porto, who is valued in the region of £18m.

Pini Zahavi, who represents the Brazilian, is expected to hold talks with the Mancunian giants and there is the optimism that an offer will be made.

Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams have been the regular left-back choices, but the latter is predominantly a right-sided full-back.

Shaw has struggled with injury concerns over the years and Telles could provide strong competition to the England international.

Telles was in stunning form for Porto last term and he registered 13 goals and 12 assists from 49 appearances across all competitions.
