Liverpool confirm third major signing of the summer
Liverpool have confirmed their third major signing of the summer with Diogo Jota joining them from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Portugal international has put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with the Reds after they agreed a deal worth £45m for his transfer.
"It's just a really exciting moment for me and my family. All of my path since I was a kid and now, to join a club like Liverpool – the world champions – is just unbelievable. I just want to get started," He told the club's official website.
The Reds started their season with a 4-3 win over Leeds United at home and they now face a testing challenge against Chelsea on the road.
Jota is unlikely to feature in the game as he was not registered in time to make the provisional squad and the same is the case for Thiago Alcantara.
Alcantara made the much-awaited move from Bayern Munich earlier on Friday. The Spaniard joined the Reds for a fee of around £27m.
