Some of Europe's biggest clubs are all desperate to sign Lyon's midfield dynamo Hatem Ben Arfa; and Arsene Wenger has admitted a long-term desire to land the Frenchman. One thing is for sure, Ben Arfa has a very bright future ahead of him.

Ben Arfa came through the youth ranks at Lyon, and eventually made the breakthrough into the first team in 2004-2005. He is now considered, alongside Karim Benzema, as one of the hottest properties in French football.

Ben Arfa has continuously been linked with a move away from the French leagues, such is the quality of his prodigious talent. Rumours circulated that he had already began learning Spanish as he prepared for a move to La Liga with Real Madrid.

However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reportedly put out an offer of around £12 million to ensure Arsenal land the youngster.

Ben Arfa has now made the step up to the French full first team under Raymond Domenech, and has even grabbed his first international goal. Ben Arfa made his debut on October 13, 2007 when he came on for Franck Ribéry in the 64th minute and scored the last goal in France's 6-0 victory over the Faroe Islands.

Since, he has continued to show he is growing as a talent for his side. Lyon are desperate to tie Ben Arfa down to a long term deal, and Lyon supremo Jean Michel Aulas has told the half Tunisian player that he has a future at the club.

Ben Arfa is a very quick player, and his acceleration helps him get beyond the last line of defence. Ben Arfa is also a very proficient crosser of the ball, and assists are one of the many qualities in his game.

Ben Arfa is very good at keeping the ball at his feet as he dribbles toward the goal; very reminiscent of a young Ryan Giggs.

After three successful championship winning years with Lyon, Ben Arfa seemingly has decided now is the time to move on.

The question is to where?
