Chelsea midfielder set to sign new contract?
Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is set to be rewarded with a new long-term contract after deciding to stay put with the club this summer.
The Italian was the subject of interest from the likes of Arsenal and Juventus, but he opted to remain with the Blues beyond the transfer deadline.
According to Area Napoli, the west London giants are prepared to reward the midfielder for his loyalty by offering a new long-term deal.
Jorginho's current contract expires in the summer of 2023. His deal is set to be renewed for another two years with a slight pay rise.
The 28-year-old has registered 12 goals from 102 appearances for the Blues to date. Three of those goals have come from the penalty spot this term.
Chelsea will take on Southampton at Stamford Bridge when they return to action after the international break this weekend.
Jorginho has started in three of the club's four league games this season and he is likely to partner N'Golo Kante in the centre of the park.
