Luka Modric speaks on possible Tottenham Hotspur return

Modric not thinking about Spurs comeback

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has ruled out the prospect of returning to Tottenham Hotspur by stating that he is 'too old' to consider a comeback.

The 35-year-old was linked with a possible return to Spurs during the summer shortly after Gareth Bale rejoined the club on loan.

However, nothing materialised beyond the speculation and Modric has continued to remain a key player for Los Blancos in midfield.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, Modric said that he is too old to go back to Spurs and he will assess his future at the end of the season.

"I'm too old to go back to Tottenham. I still have a year left in Madrid and then we'll see what happens," He told.

"I feel good and I want to continue playing football for a few more years. I am focused on Madrid and the things we can achieve this season."

The 2018 Ballon d'Or winner has been with Los Blancos since the summer of 2012 when he made the move from Spurs for around £33m.

He has amassed 24 goals and 55 assists from exactly 350 appearances. He recently scored the third goal for Real Madrid in the 3-1 El Clasico win.
