Manchester United ready to double wages of AC Milan star

Manchester United are prepared to double the wages of Hakan Calhanoglu as they seek to lure him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The Turkey international has just eight months remaining on his AC Milan contract and so far, he has yet to agree to an extension.

The Red Devils are one of the clubs keeping tabs on his situation and Todofichajes claims that they could make a pre-contract offer in January.

Milan have tabled a three-year deal worth £2.7m for the playmaker, but United have made contact with his agent and are willing to double his salary.

Calhanoglu has been a fine performer for the Rossoneri and he has netted 27 goals and assisted 40 in 137 appearances across all competitions.

He has started the current campaign in superb form with four goals and four assists from just eight games for Stefano Pioli's side.

Milan are currently top of the Serie A with a two-point advantage over Napoli.
