Arsenal identify Houssem Aouar alternative for January
Arsenal could reportedly make an attempt to sign Dominik Szoboszlai, should they fail to land Houssem Aouar from Lyon in January.
Aouar was the Gunners prime target for the summer, but they were unable to finalise a deal with Les Gones before the transfer deadline.
The club made multiple bids for the French playmaker, but their final offer of £35m fell short of the £50m price tag.
The north London side are likely to revive their interest in Aouar with a renewed bid in January, but they seem to have an alternative in mind.
Red Bull Salzburg's Szoboszlai has been closely monitored over the past year and Fabrizio Romano claims that he is an option for the Gunners.
The Hungary international has excelled for Salzburg and he has bagged 22 goals and 31 assists from 71 appearances in all competitions.
Unlike Aouar, he is valued lesser at around £30m and it will be interesting to see whether the Gunners move for him at the turn of the year.
