Leipzig leading the race to sign Dominik Szoboszlai

Arsenal look set to miss out on Dominik Szoboszlai with the Hungarian midfielder reportedly on his way to RB Leipzig.

The Hungarian has made a superb start to his career with Red Bull Salzburg, registering 22 goals and 33 assists from 74 games.

His performances have caught the eye of the Gunners in the Premier League while Leipzig and AC Milan are also long-term admirers.

According to Bild, Leipzig appears on course to sign the 20-year-old in January and they have already agreed personal terms with the playmaker.

Szoboszlai's agent recently revealed that the Gunners are interested in his client, but also emphasised that the midfielder has the preference to move to the German top-flight.

With both Salzburg and Leipzig under the same ownership of Red Bull, it is claimed that the German outfit could sign him for a reduced fee of around £17m plus add-ons in January.

Arsenal are likely to make the move for a creative midfielder at the turn of the year. They failed with a bid of around £35m for Lyon's Houssem Aouar this summer and it remains to be seen whether they make a renewed offer.
