Didier Deschamps sends warning to Olivier Giroud over gametime
France manager Didier Deschamps has said that Olivier Giroud must play more regularly at Chelsea to remain the first-choice striker for Les Bleus.
The 34-year-old has been the regular upfront for his national side for a number of years, but he has recently lost his place to Anthony Martial.
He has struggled for playing time at the club level with just one start and five substitute outings this term and Deschamps has said that he needs more first-team football to command a regular starting spot with Les Bleus.
"Olivier has been affected, first of all with the situation he has at his club, knowing that he has a large frame and that he needs rhythm. It's hard," He told reporters.
He added that the former Arsenal man's achievements with Les Bleus can't be ignored and hinted that he won't be displaced from the squad anytime soon.
Giroud has been linked with a move to Inter Milan over the past year and they are likely to make a renewed bid in January. The Frenchman may accept the switch, suppose his situation with the Blues remains the same.
