Serie A giants to beat Arsenal to Houssem Aouar?

Juventus have reportedly jumped ahead of Arsenal in the pursuit of Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

The Frenchman was tipped to join the Gunners last summer, but they failed to meet the £50m price tag for his services before the transfer deadline.

It has been reported that they could return for his signature in January, but Calciomercato claims that the Bianconeri have stolen the march.

Andrea Pirlo remains a huge admirer of the playmaker and reports claim that they could be prepared to meet the transfer valuation.

The Bianconeri would ideally prefer a two-year loan with the obligation to buy, but they are also open to negotiating a straight-cash deal.

Aouar has struggled for consistency at the start of the season and he was an unused substitute during the club's recent win over Angers.

Following that game, he refused to warm down with his teammates and as a result, he was dropped from the squad altogether to face Reims.
