Solskjaer updates on De Gea's fitness

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that David de Gea picked up a knock above his knee during the club's stunning comeback win at Southampton.

The Red Devils went 2-0 down during the opening half and De Gea got injured while trying to save the free-kick from James Ward-Prowse which resulted in the Saints' second goal.

As a result, the goalkeeper was replaced by Dean Henderson midway through the contest and Solskjaer is hopeful that the Spaniard can return for the midweek clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

"It’s a knock just above the knee, so we’ll have a scan and a check on him tomorrow. Hopefully he can be ready for Wednesday (against Paris St Germain in the Champions League) but I can’t promise you anything now," He told.

Manchester United made it three league wins on the bounce with their comeback triumph at St Mary's. They are now placed seventh on the table with 16 points, five behind the leaders with one game in hand.
