Hazard out for around three weeks with thigh injury

Real Madrid are set to be without Eden Hazard for around three weeks following his thigh injury in the 2-1 defeat to Alaves last weekend.

The Belgium international joined Los Blancos on a club-record deal from Chelsea last summer and he has since made just 28 appearances.

During the past 18 months, Hazard has missed as many as 35 matches for Los Blancos and he has now suffered a fresh injury setback.

Earlier this week, Los Blancos confirmed that Hazard's fitness would be closely monitored and the extent of the injury has now been known.

The ex-Lille graduate is set to miss as many as six games and that includes key league matches against Sevilla and Atletico Madrid.

Elsewhere, he also won't be available for the final Champions League group stage clash against Borussia Monchengladbach on the road.

Zinedine Zidane's side suffered another shock defeat to Shakhtar on Tuesday and they are no longer in control of their destiny.

Shakhtar are equal on points with Los Blancos, but have jumped to second on the table after outclassing them in the head-to-head meetings.

The Ukrainian outfit will qualify for the round of 16 stage, provided they match Los Blancos' result in the final matchday.
