Arsenal board make decision on Mikel Arteta's future

Arsenal board are reportedly keeping their faith in manager Mikel Arteta despite the club's woeful run of form in the Premier League.

The Gunners have lost seven of their opening 12 games of the campaign and they are 15th on the table and just five points off the drop zone.

Hence, there has been plenty of criticism towards Arteta, but Football.London claims that the club's hierarchy are continuing to back the Spaniard.

The north London giants are scheduled to host Southampton on Wednesday night and that could be another testing challenge.

They have picked up just one point from the previous five matches and will come up against the Saints, who are flying high in the fourth spot.

After the Saints, they have testing challenges against Everton, Manchester City (League Cup quarter-final) and Chelsea and things are looking bleak.

Should the Gunners fail to pick up points in the next three games, there could be serious questions over Arteta's position as the head coach.
