Saliba set for January loan exit?

Arsenal are prepared to sanction the temporary departure of William Saliba when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

The Frenchman joined the Gunners from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2019, but he was instantly loaned back to the Ligue 1 side.

Earlier this summer, he returned to the north London side to feature in some pre-season games, but has yet to make his debut for the club.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has hinted that the centre-back is not yet ready for first-team action and it appears that he could leave on loan.

According to Sky Sports News, the Gunners are happy to sanction a loan deal for Saliba, but they would prefer him staying in the United Kingdom.

Saliba was heavily linked with a return to Saint-Etienne on loan last summer, but a deal failed to materialise before deadline day.

He has continued to be associated with a return to France, but the Gunners want him to gain experience in English football.
