Barcelona reach agreement to sign Manchester City defender
Barcelona have reached a pre-contract agreement with Manchester City's Eric Garcia ahead of a free transfer next summer.
The centre-back was fancied to sign for them during the 2020 summer transfer window, but a deal failed to materialise.
With his contract expiring in six months' time, he is free to sign a pre-contract and Fabrizio Romano claims that he has agreed terms with the Blaugrana.
The Italian added that the Catalan giants would need to re-open negotiations with City, suppose they want to sign the defender this month.
Pep Guardiola's side wanted around £30m for Garcia last summer, but that was way off the £15m fee the Blaugrana were willing to offer.
His valuation will have dropped further and it remains to be seen whether the clubs are willing to negotiate on a suitable fee.
Otherwise, the Cityzens are expected to lose Garcia on a free transfer as he has no plans of signing a fresh deal with them.
