Mikel Arteta delivers Thomas Partey fitness update
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Thomas Partey could make his injury comeback against Crystal Palace on Thursday night.
The Ghana international returned from a thigh injury to face Tottenham Hotspur in early December, but he suffered a recurrence of the same problem after just 45 minutes.
He has since been on the sidelines, but Arteta has confirmed that he could make his return against the Eagles after participating in full training over the past five days.
"Thomas has been in full training for the last four or five days, he's completely asymptomatic. It would be a little bit rushed to try and play him against Newcastle but I think he will be ready for Thursday," He told Arsenal.com.
Arteta received much criticism from the fans after rushing back Partey after just one training session last time around. He has avoided a similar instance and will be hoping that the midfielder can stay fit for the rest of the season.
The north London giants have won three league games on the bounce. They are currently 11th on the table with 26 points and could move into the top half with another victory.
