'He made the difference': Mesut Ozil heaps praise on young Arsenal star
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has heaped praise on Emith Smith Rowe following his impressive displays from the number 10 position.
The 20-year-old made his first Premier League start of the season last month and he has since been in fine form across all competitions.
He has contributed two assists in his previous three league games and was also on the scoresheet in the 2-0 FA Cup third round win over Newcastle United.
Hence, he has earned plenty of plaudits from fans and pundits and during a Q&A session on Twitter, Ozil expressed his pleasure over the youngster's impact from the number 10 role.
"He made the difference in the last couple of games as a No.10. Really happy for him… and that he showed that playing with a No.10 still can make sense in today’s football," He tweeted.
Smith Rowe is now regarded as one of the first names on the teamsheet and he is expected to start against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Thursday night.
The Gunners are presently in the bottom half of the standings in 11th, but can move into the top half of the table by beating the Eagles. They are currently on a four-match winning run across all competitions.
