Napoli want to land Chelsea defender

Serie A giants Napoli are exploring a temporary move for Emerson during the current transfer window.

The Italy international is currently the back-up option to Chilwell for the left-back position.

He has talked up a possible return to the Serie A in the past and The Telegraph claims that Napoli are keen on landing him.

However, the Naples outfit only consider him as a short-term option and are not keen on negotiating a permanent deal.

It is added that Arsenal's Kieran Tierney is the long-term target for them and they may make an approach for his services next summer.

The Scotland international is currently one of the undisputed starters for the Gunners and it is highly unlikely that he could be sold.

Napoli were keen on landing his signature from Celtic in August 2019, but they were beaten to his services by the north London side.

Gennaro Gattuso's side are presently sixth on the Serie A table, nine points behind leaders AC Milan with one game in hand.
