Frank Lampard speaks on Fikayo Tomoris Chelsea future

Lampard says Tomori has long-term future at Chelsea

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has said that Fikayo Tomori has a long-term future with the club despite being out of contention at the moment.

The centre-back worked under Lampard at Derby County (on loan) for the 2018/19 campaign and was integrated into the Blues' first team when the 42-year-old was appointed the head coach in 2019.

Tomori made 22 appearances across all competitions last season and during this period, he earned his maiden cap with the England national side.

The current season, however, has been a disappointment for him, having earned just four appearances, out of which only one has come in the league.

Speaking in a press conference, Lampard said that Tomori has a long-term future ahead with the club, but may leave on loan for the season.

"Fikayo Tomori absolutely has a long-term future at this club, and we'll see if and when he goes on loan," He told via Chelseafc.com.

The Blues are currently ninth on the league table. They are scheduled to face west London rivals Fulham on the road this weekend.
