Manchester United to rival Chelsea for Premier League star
Manchester United are set to compete with Chelsea to land the signature of Declan Rice next summer.
The West Ham United midfielder has been linked with a big-club move and that could materialise at the end of the season.
According to ESPN, both United and Chelsea are interested in signing the England international, who could cost £70m in the summer.
However, the Blues are still considered favourites to sign him, given United's hierarchy are cautious to spend big amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Rice is currently contracted to the Hammers until the summer of 2024 and the club have the option to extend his stay for another season.
Hence, they don't face any compulsion to sell and are expected to hold out for their asking price during next summer's transfer window.
Rice has been ever-present for the Hammers in the Premier League since the start of last season.
He has transformed into one of England's top midfielders and has occasionally captained the club this term.
