Manchester United to swoop for West Ham midfielder?

Soucek on Man United radar

Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close watch on the performances of West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek.

The 25-year-old joined the Hammers on a temporary basis from Slavia Prague in January 2020 before the deal was made permanent in the summer.

In his short time at the club, he has made a strong impression with his defensive qualities as well as his knack of scoring goals.

Soucek has netted 11 goals since his arrival at the Hammers and eight of those have come during the current Premier League campaign.

His goals have directly contributed to the Hammers picking up 14 more points and it appears that he has caught the eye of United scouts.

According to Football Insider, the Red Devils are monitoring the midfielder's performances closely ahead of a possible summer move.

The club are mulling over the potential departure of Paul Pogba whose contract expires in less than 17 months' time.

Soucek does not have the same reputation as Pogba, but he has proved a quality box-to-box midfielder with a strong aerial presence.
