Manchester United playmaker heading for summer exit?
Manchester United attacker Juan Mata may end his seven-year association with the club at the end of the season.
Mata has been a squad player over the past few years and has not played in the Premier League since December 2020.
His current deal expires in four months' time, but United do have the option of extending his stay for another year.
According to AS, Mata is eager to return to the Spanish La Liga where he made 174 appearances for Valencia between 2007 and 2011.
The 32-year-old has been on the fringes of the first-team at United and he has made only 10 appearances this term.
He may be sold for a reduced price in the summer with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer likely to focus on the purchase of another attacker.
Jadon Sancho could be the main target once again with reports claiming that Borussia Dortmund could sell him for only £50m.
Dortmund wanted around £109m for Sancho last summer but they are now under financial burden amid the coronavirus pandemic.
