Tottenham Hotspur receive boost in signing RB Leipzig star

Marcel Sabitzer news

Sabitzer set for Spurs move?

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost in signing Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig during the summer transfer window.

Spurs have been linked with the Austrian since the summer of 2020 and they could land him at the end of the campaign.

Sabitzer's current deal with the club expires in June next year and he has shown no indication of signing a renewal.

Hence, the German side are planning to sell him with January signing Dominic Szoboszlai likely to play in a central midfield role next term.

Sabitzer was valued at £45m last summer but reports claim that Leipzig may lower the price tag to £31m ahead of the next transfer window.

Dayot Upamecano is expected to leave Leipzig this summer after Bayern Munich agreed to trigger the £38m release clause on his contract.

Ibrahima Konate has been fancied to follow him through the exit door alongside Peter Gulacsi, who is wanted by Borussia Dortmund.

Leipzig are currently five points behind leaders Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga but they have a game in hand.
